The Greco di Tufo wine produced by Sabino Loffredo in Pietracupa is perfectly associable with a gilthead from Amalfi caught early in the morning and very slightly cooked with lemon. This wine is the proof of the good results obtained by this new farm thanks to the great reliability and the right fusion between the wine expert and the owner who is well-known for his great care and propension to updating. Paolo De Cristofaro was right when he told that this white wine was very good. The Gambero Rosso awarded this extraordinary white wine with the “three glasses”. First of all this wine is well-structured and full-bodied, it is able to keep the taste in your mouth until the end perfectly, then it gives a deep sense of freshness and finally, the smell is deep and captures all your senses (that can be also found in other wines but in the case of Pietracupa it is particularly interesting) which makes this vintage rise in value. So this is a great white wine; it is a confirmation of the very high-level vocation of this territory which is able to compete with all the other Italian “terroir”. The Greco 2005 wine produced by Carmine and Sabino has an infinite intensity and lingering aroma. It smells sweet which depends on the whole fruit and the good work done in the cellar and not on the presence of wood as someone thinks. This wine confirms the mineral character typical of all the expressions of the Greco di Tufo. The potentialities of this white wine are really enormous, I expect a good development in the next few years, as happened for the previous land belonging to the farm. It can be associated with all the dishes but we recommend to pair it to high-quality seafood cooked in a very natural way.
